Christopher Drummond began his career in the beauty industry as a fashion model over fifteen years ago. Though he found success as a model and love for the industry, modeling did not provide the creative rewards he desired. The experience taught him something else: as a bi-racial man (part black/part Italian), many professional makeup artists could not match his skin color correctly. Curiosity prompted action; action led to a conversation that would unleash a passion that would ignite a decades-long career as a makeup artist and esthetician, even launching his own line of natural, organic makeup named aptly, Christopher Drummond.
As a makeup artist, he has worked with some of the biggest celebrities in the industry: Jennifer Lopez, Kimora Lee Simmons, Brooke Shields, Kerry Washington, Halle Berry, Glenn Close and Jane Fonda, to name a few. His work has also been featured in numerous national publications from Elle and InStyle to Ebony and Essence.
However, it all started at Saks. After a photo shoot, Christopher went to the cosmetics counter to purchase his own makeup for photo shoots. He shared his issues as a model with the counter manager (they talked for two full hours), and at the end of the conversation, she offered him a job as a regional makeup artist for the company, saying, “I can just tell you’d be good at it!”
Since then, Christopher has become a visionary in creating looks for women that are real, unaffected, beautiful and glowing. His philosophy is one of simple glamour. After more than 10 years as a working makeup artist, Christopher also pursued his esthetician license, completing his desire to be a true beauty expert. Christopher now brings his expertise to the ladies of MoxieQ each week in Ethnic Beauty Secrets.
Originally from Flint, Michigan, Christopher now resides in New York City. He was active in the theater during high school and college at the University of Michigan, where he earned a B.A. in Communications and Broadcasting.
