This week I wanted to talk about one of the most important ways to finish off your look. No matter what you do with your makeup, or how much you don’t do, a coat of mascara and an eyelash curler is going to make all the difference. With my team of assistants by my side, we all brought out our mascaras and did a test on each other. We started with a review of drugstore mascaras. Read More »

I have been doing makeup on the set of Selling New York for HGTV; as of right now I make two of the agents polished and camera-ready. One of them is the amazing real estate agent Vickey Barron. I have been around thousands of women in my lifetime, and it always surprises me when women don’t want a lot of make-up. Like Khloe Kardashian, Vickey also likes a very clean look. Read More »

Okay, so it’s 3:56 am and my best friend and I can’t sleep because I wanted to do karaoke…. so I kept her up singing. And I have to say I think I remember most of the night. We ended up having pillow talk about staying hydrated through the winter time (and after the dehydration of those Long Islands kick in.) She has dry skin anyway, and was asking my advice about how to stay even more hydrated during the cold months. This got the wheels in my head turning, and I went to my costume closet for this week’s dilemma. Read More »

For her birthday, my cousin Robbie got his girlfriend a BB gun. Now I thought that this gift would just not do…only a straight man about to join the army would buy his girlfriend a gift like this. So, I wanted to do something for Lauren- not only for her birthday, because girl, I celebrate my birthday all month long- but I also wanted to do something for her as a gift to my cousin Robbie- for serving our country. I wanted to bring out the sex kitten I knew was hiding in there… Read More »

I was booked on a fashion show for a male underwear line called 2xist. We had about 15 to 20 male models and it was so hard not to look at these men as snacks. Remember that guy from the soda commercial when all the women go to the window to watch him drink his soda on his lunch break? It was that times 100. Anyway, when I’m done with the dancers and walking back to the makeup area, I heard, “Money can’t buy you class, elegance is learned…” Read More »

The other day I had the chance to work on Khloe Kardashian. The call time was so early in the morning and girl, I am not a morning person, I’m a night owl who loves a great side car. She wanted to look even without a full face of crazy foundation. Knowing I had only a very limited amount of time to get her ready, I decided to use a trick I use when I only have a few minutes to get a polished face. Read More »

I just finished shooting a TV show called PUMPED; it’s a Reality TV Show on the Speed Channel geared towards men. We filmed for a few weeks and this crew became like a little family. There was one PA who was just the most fun person to be around despite a recent personal life hangover. Unfortunately, her boyfriend broke up with this PYT over text message! This called for a night of white wine bliss and my bag of tricks the next day… Read More »

I was on set just the other morning, and the model in my chair was so upset. She had a breakout that was down both sides of her cheeks. I am used to giving a lot of advice to my clients, whether they are celebrities or just the girl next door, and the most common question I always get is, “How can I clear up my skin?” Read More »

I was talking to a girlfriend, Kate, whom I do makeup on almost all the time. I was trying to get her to step out of her makeup box and get her to let me put some red lips on her. For the life of me, she would not let me. She just put her foot down. Finally, I had to ask her why. And her answer was amazing to me. To her–she thought that red was too vulgar, and people would think of her as a floozy. Read More »
