These guys are from a generation long past their music predecessors such as Jim Morrison and Steven Tyler, but half of them still wear the hair styles that were (and are) trademarks of these same artistic icons. There continues to be an allure regarding the long hair which many successful rock bands sport even today. Read More »

One of my clients and I were talking today about the idea that you can tell how a woman feels about herself by how she styles and wears her hair. And somehow, I think men have a sixth sense about this because sexy, romantic hair can send a signal to your significant other that simply cannot be misinterpreted. Romantic hair accessories set the stage and create the mood, so let’s take a look at some romantic hairstyle ideas for Valentine’s Day. Read More »

As our lives get busier and busier we tend to let the little things go–like styling our hair every day, getting mani pedis, and going into the salon to get our regrowth done. I hear Madonna may have a case of nerves over her upcoming Super Bowl performance. I never considered that. I really thought that anyone who had done everything at least once in her life would have confidence. But I’m not the one with an audience in the millions, and when I really look closer, there is at least one thing that Madonna hasn’t ever done. She has never donned pastel hair, for any reason. I like to say that she was simply too smart. But that hasn’t stopped the trend from continuing on, regardless of my and Madonna’s opinion Read More »

Even though the concept style of Rockabilly has been around for decades in one incarnation or another, it’s finding its way back once again- riding the coattails of coiffed hair. And I must say that I like it, even though it’s so relatively new in its resurgence that very few of my clients have asked for it yet. But don’t be fooled. This truly Americana style is making another comeback. Read More »

In my experience, the first thing girls want to do when they have a break-up, a career change, or are simply having a fat day, is to cut their bangs. I don’t understand it, but I’ve gotten where I roll with it. And just so you know ladies, men have fat days too. And hot flashes. Anyway, back to bangs. They’re sexy, they’re cool, they’re in right now. Read More »

Who of us hasn’t wished at some point in our lives that our hair was different in some way; either lighter or darker, more body or more straight, or simply just more hair? I think you would be hard pressed to find many, if any, who could answer these questions with the reply, “not me.” Thus was born the wig… Read More »

As a beauty and skincare expert, I’ve worked on all types of skin and women of all ethnic groups. While one skin color does not have BETTER skin than another, there are distinctive differences in how we should take care of it. What works for a blond-haired blue- eyed Scandinavian may not be as effective for a dark-skinned woman from Uganda. Read More »
